| Vinos de la
Tierra are one step below ‘DO’
status, and are equivalent to French
Vin de Pays. However, this
designation does not necessarily
signify lower quality. Many
producers opt for this designation
because of its less stringent laws.
This allows producers more freedom
in creating their wine and
experimenting with different grape
varieties, viticultural practices,
and vinfication techniques. Vinos de
la Tierra de Castilla are wines that
come from Castilla La Mancha, in the
center of Spain. |
